Product Care
Wool:
CARE: Wool products are generally best dry-cleaned rather than washed.
• Wash wool only at low temperatures.
• Wash wool gently and avoid strong rubbing. Do not soak or leave it in water for long periods.
• Do not wring wool garments or hang them to dry. After washing, roll the garment in a towel to remove excess water, then dry flat, as wet wool can become much heavier and lose its shape.
• Do not dry wool products in direct sunlight, as the fabric may fade or yellow.
Linen:
CARE: Linen is relatively easy to care for. When choosing a washing temperature, consider the colour intensity and any other fibres in the product. For the first wash, use cool water at about 30°C, wash separately and use a detergent without bleaching agents. Do not dry linen products in direct sunlight. Please note that linen may shrink slightly; depending on the fibre composition, structure and yarn, shrinkage after the first wash may be approximately 4–7%.
Bamboo:
CARE: Bamboo-fibre products require gentle but simple care. Wash at no more than 40°C. Avoid the highest spin speeds and do not use bleach or fabric softener.
Cotton:
CARE: Cotton is easy to wash and stains are generally easy to remove. The fibre tolerates relatively high ironing temperatures. Cotton products may generally be washed at up to 60°C and ironed below 150°C. When selecting washing or ironing temperatures, always consider any other fibres present in the product.
Viscose:
CARE: Viscose absorbs a great deal of water and may stretch when wet. Dry cleaning is often recommended because the fibre becomes weaker during washing. If machine washing, choose a gentle programme. If washing by hand, do not soak for long and do not wring; gently press out the water. Viscose wrinkles easily, so ironing after drying may be necessary to restore the original appearance.
Polyamide:
CARE: Products containing polyamide should generally be washed at about 40°C. Do not use bleach. Avoid hot water and harsh chemical treatments, as the fibre may shrink. Iron quickly and carefully at approximately 110–130°C, as the fabric may become shiny. Antistatic products may be used if required.
Polyester:
CARE: Hand wash or machine wash at about 40°C. Avoid strong spinning. Use suitable rinsing products if needed. Hang products to dry and iron at a low temperature.
Polyacrylic:
CARE: Care depends on the other fibres with which acrylic is blended. Always follow the care label. Ironing at temperatures up to approximately 150°C is generally recommended.
Elastane:
CARE: Perspiration can reduce elastane's elasticity, so heavily soiled garments should not be left unwashed for long periods. Perspiration, seawater, chlorine and sunlight can damage elastane. Washing temperature depends on the other fibres in the product. Use a low ironing temperature because elastane is sensitive to heat. Avoid direct sunlight when drying products containing elastane.
Care of wool and wool-blend socks:
Machine wash in cool water (up to 30°C).
Normal wash at 30°C.
Use detergents intended for wool or delicate fabrics. Wash with similar colours.
Iron at a low temperature (up to 110°C).
Standard dry cleaning, subject to the care label.
Do not bleach.
Gentle tumble drying at low temperature only where permitted by the care label.
